Mysore: The BJP Kodagu district unit President, Suja Kushalappa was shot and injured by a gang of four-member near the Sub Registrar’s office in Virajpet on January 9.Thursday evening.
It is learnt that Kushalappa was walking along with his associates when unidentified assailants fired from a pistol and fled.
Reportedly Suja Kushalappa sustained injuries on his back and neck for which he was admitted to Columbia Asia hospital in Mysore.
As per the reports, Kushalappa who had three bullets on the back of his neck, was initially operated on at a hospital in Virajpet wherein one bullet was removed.
He was later brought to Mysore, where he was yet again operated upon by a team of doctors led by Dr Anil Sangli.
The incident has led to a bandh in the towns across the district such as Madikeri, Virajpet and Somwarpet.
