Attack on municipal workers: DSS demands arrest of miscreants

Hunasur : The taluk unit of the Dalita Sangharsha Samithi (DSS) staged a protest  in front of the DySP Office here  on Sunday September 7 demanding the arrest of the miscreants responsible for the  assault on municipal workers of Devagalli village.

Addressing the protestors, Ningaraja Malladi, District Organising Secretary of the DSS  alleged that the miscreants assaulted the municipal workers merely because they did not arrive to beat the drums during the Ganesha Visarjana procession no sooner they were summoned.

He further stated that the DSS strongly condemned the act of the miscreants in damaging a portrait of BR Ambedkar.

He demanded the administration to immediately arrest the  accused namely Chinnaraju Urs, Devaraje Gowda, Somaraju Urs, Manjuraj Urs,Kumara Raje Urs, Chikka Venkatesh, Kantha Raje Urs and Puttaraje Urs and invoke Goonda Act against them.

He further accused the Bilikere Sub-inspector Udaya Ravi of failure to arrest the accused despite a complaint lodged  in connection with the case. He demanded the suspension of the SI who has failed to protect the interests of the Dalits.

DSS leaders J Kumar, Mahadev, Raitha Sangha District President Hosur Kumar, Councillor Lakshman and several others participated in the
protest.
