Mysuru: A brilliant artist from Mysuru with an extreme interest in creating God’s illustrations is chained and locked inside a room for the past 10 years.
Kumarawamy (26) son of Raja Shetty and Nanjamma from Hura village in Nanjangud taluk is the artist. Since his childhood days, he was crazy about drawing God’s pictures. He drew them on walls, paper and then showed it to people.

People mocked him and started calling him names for drawing pictures of God.

According to his mother, ten years back on an Amavasya night, he tore his clothes, ran inside a room and from then on never came outside.

His mother seeing her son in a worse condition took him to several temples vowed to all the Gods. But his condition remains the same till date.

Presently, he is kept inside a room in a half-naked condition. He does not allow anyone to enter the room except his mother who often comes to serve him food.

It is still a mystery why he became mentally ill. Nobody knows the cause for his present condition.

“He was supposed to look after me. His condition has not changed since he became mentally ill. It must be God’s curse that he’s suffering like this confined to a room,” cries his mother.

His mother has not taken him to any hospital due to poverty from the past ten years. She is hoping to get help from the health minister and get her son treated soon.
