Mysuru: In a tragic accident, a biker was crushed to death by a speeding ambulance which took the wrong side near Gun House during night hours in the city on Friday, July 1.

The deceased has been identified as Madhusudan (24), who was returning to his house near Hardinge circle after dropping his friends at the KSRTC bus-stand.

The incident took place between Gun House and Hardinge circle when the youth on his way home was hit by the speeding ambulance on the wrong side of the road. The ambulance was carrying two injured patients from Nanjanagud to a city hospital.

The impact was so severe that the front side of the ambulance was extensively damaged and the bike was damaged beyond recognition. The rider was killed on the spot. The ambulance driver escaped from the scene and the injured patients were shifted to nearby hospitals immediately.

KR traffic police have seized the ambulance and registered a case.
