Mandya: Though the demand of the fans, who wanted their beloved star and ‘son of soil’ to be laid to rest in Mandya could not be fulfilled, they at least got a chance to have glimpses of their hero for one last time as the state government made way for the actor-turned-politician’s body to be flown to Mandya.

With the central defense minister providing a defence chopper, the mortal remains of Ambareesh was taken to Mandya and will be kept for public homage from 5 pm on Sunday to 6 am on Monday.

Since the Airforce officials had pointed at the inconvenience of landing the helicopter at the Kanteerava Stadium, where the body was kept for public viewing, an ambulance was brought in and the body was taken to HAL airport after creating a green Corridor.

Already the arrangements are in place at the SMV Stadium under the supervision of IGP South Zone Sharath Chandra and the District Administration of Mandya district.
