Mysuru/Mangaluru: Revaluation of answer sheet of PU examination turned out to be life changing for two young PU pass outs from Mysuru and Mangaluru.

Raveesh Suresh Bannihatti from Sri Ramakrishna Vidyashala PU College, Mysuru and Vaishnavi Ballal from Expert PU College, Mangaluru, who were earlier ranking in list of top ten scorers in the state have now emerged as state topper and second topper after revaluation.
While Raveesh fetched eight more marks from his initial total, Vaishnavi had got six more marks.
Raveesh’s story
When II PU results were announced, Raveesh had secured 589. He was not happy with the score he got in English as he was expecting more than 95 marks.
Hence he applied for photo copy of answer script and after going through the answer scripts with subject experts including the principal of his college he applied for revaluation.
As expected he got eight more marks in English to take his tally to 98 marks and overall total to 597 marks making him a topper in state.
On Thursday late evening, Raveesh and Principal of Vidyashala Balaji came to know about the revaluation marks and they were delighted with the outcome of marks. Speaking to Newskarnataka.com Raveesh said “I was very confident about my marks, when I came to know that I got 90 marks in English, I told my parents and also my teachers including principal Balaji sir. Due to revaluation and paper seeing facility I got justice, if such facility was not there it would have been a problem. I want to take up medicine and later pursue career in cardiology”.
Delighted Principal of Sri Ramakrishna Vidyashala S Balaji said “As expected after revaluation he got eight more marks to take tally to 597 and emerge as state topper. Raveesh is very talented, sincere and honest student. We at Vidyashala give overall importance of our students. Not only education but also extracurricular activities. Everyday minimum of three hours our students study. The secret behind our success is we give equal importance to all the students. There is no special coaching for any particular group of students.
Raveesh marks stand 100 marks in Sanskrit, Physics, Maths and Biology and 99 and 98 in Chemistry and English respectively, with overall score of 597 marks. He is proud son of BP Suresh and Dr HR Nalina.
It may be recalled that Arshiya Samreen, student of Teresian College in Mysuru, who had got 10 marks in History during initial results later got 85 marks after revaluation. Ashriya had slipped into depression due to the low score.
Vaishnavi stands second topper in state
Meanwhile in Mangaluru, Vaishnavi Ballal, a students of Expert PU College has emerged as second state topper after she opted for revaluation of one of the papers in which she had scored comparatively lesser.
Speaking to the reporters, Expert Educational Institutions Secretary Ushaprabha Nayak said that Vaishnavi had scored 100 in five subjects, but in English she got only 90. After the re-evaluation the numbers shot up to 96 out of 100. This has made her the second topper of the state.
Vaishnavi Ballal said that she was shocked when the initial results were out, because she had expected above 90 marks in English as well.
“After the re-evaluation my marks shot up to 596 out of 600 as against the initial 590 marks. I am thankful to Expert coaching classes and the faculty,” she said adding that she wants to become a Neuro Surgeon in future.
Ushaprabha Nayak also informed that the state topper Ravish Kumar is a student of Expert vacation coaching classes. He has scored 597 out of 600.
