African hunting cheetah dies of hereditary ailment in Mysuru Zoo

Mysuru: An African hunting Cheetah, which was housed in Mysuru Zoo died on Saturday, due to a hereditary ailment.
It is said that four and half year old Cheetah named Ganapathy had grown weak and feeble due to acute back pain, which he had inherited from his mother.

In 2011, Brinda, a female Cheetah was brought to India from Africa and so far Brinda gave birth to 15 cubs, all of whom died of the back pain problem.

Ganapathi was the only cub that survived for four and half years.

Ganapathy was undergoing treatment over the last six months.
