Mysuru: Activist S R Hiremath urged the state government to take decisive action to protect the government land grabbed by Home Minister K J George for his criminal conspiracy with Prestige.

Addressing the media persons on Saturday he said that ‘The Joy Ice-cream’ is cheating the government of 3 acres 23 guntas in S No 42 of Pattandur agrahara Village Bangalore East Taluk which is a challenging case to the government.

Accordingly to the Special District Deputy Commissioner, Bangalore urban transferred the said lands to KIADB on 31 March 2006 subject to the condition to that JICPL should use the land only for industry to which it had applied for the same, should not be alienated for any reason in which the case the land will be resumed by the government. But KIADB transferred the land to JICPL without mentioning any of the conditions subjected to which Special Deputy Commissioner had transferred the lands to KIADB.

Interestingly two years after the transfer of ownership to Prestige on 5 June 2008 it has been converted to residential purpose. This is done under the vigil of Home Minister K J George making huge profits to Prestige. This is a typical example how builders have made fortunes with the collision of revenue. It is a real test as to whether the government has real political will to do with the powerful nexus of Land maphia power ad corrupt political officials.

Further he said that in its report the task force Recovery and protection of public lands formed by Karnataka it is clearly said that the lands allotted by KIADB is in Violation of Law. The King pin Home Minister K J George is behind it.

Reacting to a question, he said that K G George is unfit even to become an MLA and our association will take the corrupt officials to the logic end. CM Siddaramaiah compared to the other CM of the Congress Party is much better but I don’t say he is satisfied. He along with Revenue Minister Srinivasprasad should take stern decision on these culprits.

Making reference to the corruption at Lokayuktha he said that Karnataka Lokayuktha is under severe credibility crisis. In a letter from SP, City Division Sonial Narang dated 11 May 2015 she has called for serious and urgent need for credible investigation where an employee at Lokayuktha was found involved in corruption. She has given a vivid description of the situation with great courage. But no action has been taken yet. This is a shame and irresponsible act by the system. It has lost sanctity. We urge the authorities to take strict action and protect the institution.

Reacting to a question he said that in our Democratic set up even the Judiciary is not free from corruption. Around 30% of the Judges in the lower body are corrupt.
