Mysuru: Among 68 Government PU Colleges in the district, the condition of 34 Government PUColleges, that is 50 percent of the Government PU Colleges are not good.
Few days back after a portion of plastering and ceiling of 160-year-old Maharaja PU College collapsed, the government instructed the authority concerned to give reports of prevailing condition of all Government PU colleges in their jurisdiction.
In Mysuru district, when DDPU instructed Principals of all the 68 PU colleges to give report about the prevailing condition of their respective colleges, it came to light that among 68 Government PU Colleges in the district, the condition of 34 colleges are pathetic and the situation worsens during rainy season.
A II PU student who don’t want to disclose his name said “It is high time that government paid more attention towards education and its infrastructure. The government must wake up before it is too late,”
Speaking to Newskarnataka, Regina P Malaki, DDPU (in-charge), Mysuru district said that among 68 Government PU Colleges, 34 college buildings are having one or the other problems including roof leakage, floor damage, cracks etc. “After getting all those details we have submitted the same to government perusal just few days back. Once we get instructions from government we can take up next step,” the DDPU (in-charge) said.
