Mysuru: In the wake of the murder of two rowdy sheeters at Paduvarahalli, over 120 rowdy-sheeters were paraded at the CAR Grounds here on Friday.
In the presence of Police Commissioner Dr A Subramanyeshwara Rao, DCP (Crime and Traffic) N Rudramuni, DCP (Law and Order) H T Shekhar and CCB ACP Gopal the rowdy-sheeters’ parade was conducted. Interacting with the rowdy-sheeters, Police Commissioner Subramanyeshwara Rao warned the rowdies and asked them to mend their ways and keep away from creating any trouble to society. Later, the Police Commissioner also directed the officers to verify the records of those rowdy-sheeters who are still active in anti-social activities. Among the rowdy-sheeters who were paraded were those listed in Jayalakshmipuram and V V Puram Police limits.
Earlier in the day, DCP H T Shekhar and his team raided the houses of rowdy-sheeters in Paduvarahalli. The police inspected the houses and seized weapons that were allegedly found in their houses. “Following the murder of two rowdy sheeters in Paduvarahalli, we have kept a high alert in Paduvarahalli area. The anti-social elements in the area have been warned that stringent action would be taken against them if they involved in anti-social or criminal activities,” added Shekar.
