Mysuru: With the much-awaited Dasara festival on the horizon, the official Dasara poster and website were unveiled on Tuesday by District In-charge Minister HC Mahadevappa and Minister Shivraj Tangadagi.
The unveiling ceremony took place at the Mysuru Palace Board, where a vibrant poster capturing the essence of Dasara was revealed. Minister Mahadevappa discussed the elaborate plans for this year’s Dussehra celebrations during the event, which was organized in collaboration with the Department of Kannada and Culture. The decision was made to celebrate Dasara with great enthusiasm.
Minister Mahadevappa disclosed that this year, more than 190 taluks in the state have been declared drought-affected, prompting a thoughtful approach to Dasara festivities. As a result, this year’s celebration will return to its traditional roots, focusing on the true spirit of Dasara.
The inauguration of Dasara is slated for October 15th, with a lineup of various Dasara programs set to kick off on the same day. Despite the challenges posed by drought conditions, the organizers are committed to preserving the cultural and traditional significance of Dasara. To stay within budget constraints, a budget-conscious approach will be adopted this year, with 15 crore rupees allocated by the Kannada and Culture Department. Additionally, 18 committees have been established to oversee different aspects of the event.
This year’s Dasara festivities promise to be exciting, featuring special attractions such as Yuva Dussehra, Yuva Sambharama, and an Air Show. Minister HC Mahadevappa expressed confidence that these additions would enhance the richness of the celebrations. Furthermore, efforts are underway to secure sponsors, enabling the hosting of a grand Dasara event while adhering to budgetary limitations.
With anticipation building, both locals and tourists can look forward to a spectacular Dasara celebration that seamlessly combines tradition, culture, and entertainment, ensuring that this year’s festival leaves a lasting impression on all who participate.
