Udupi: The Udupi Police department observed Police Flag Day on April 2 at Chandu Maidan in the city.

Speaking on the occasion, retired Deputy Superintendent of Police Mane, said that the Police should have presence of mind and remain calm during tense situations. He wished everyone well during the event.

This profession at times demands work under pressure to maintain law and order in the society. A good friendly and healthy relation with public is a must, Mane added.

The programme was attended by police personnel all over the district. Around 40 retired police personnel were given Rs 5.13 lakh worth welfare for healthcare needs on the occasion.
