Valuables worth Rs 7 lakh stolen from Laxmidas Jewellers

Mangaluru: In the wee hours of Wednesday May 13, two thieves broke into the city’s Laxmidas Jewellers and stole gold and silver ornaments and items worth Rs 7 lakhs


According to the CCTV cameras in the store, two men presumed to be North Indians broke-in at 10 pm and stayed inside the shop until 4 am.

Sources said that at around the same time, the two thieves tried to bring out the silver statue from the store; the employees of a nearby pub spotted them, and raised an alarm and informed the police.

The thieves then dropped the silver statue and managed to flee with a few other  articles. The Bunder police arrived at the spot and are investigating.
