Puttur: MLA Shakunthala Shetty’s 24-year-old niece died, after she accidently fell into a metal cutter machine on Tuesday May 12.

The deceased has been identified as Niriksha Shetty, daughter of Gopalkrishna Adyanthaya, brother of Shakunthala Shetty.

Niriksha, a B.E graduate was employed at a manufacturing unit in Chennai. She had plans to pursue MBA and recently sent her resignation, as per the reports.

The last rites of the deceased will be held at her native place Alangaru on Wednesday.
