Shivamogga: A person, who attended a court hearing as a witness in a case, allegedly abused a lawyer in the courtroom during the proceedings, on Thursday, February 20, and was put behind bars.

Shankar, a resident of Sidlipura village, Bhadravathi town, had appeared before the JMFC III court as a witness on Thursday. During the court proceedings, he reportedly told the lawyer, Nayaz Ahmed, “You are a Pakistani,” and abused him.

Judge Jyoti Patil immediately ordered the bailiff to arrest Shankar on charges of obstructing the court proceedings and indecent behaviour.

Later, Shankar was sent behind bars for a day.
