Shivamogga: Elections to be held in next four to five months and Shikaripura is considered to be a stronghold of Former Chief Minister B. S. Yediyurappa. The political activity has picked up and the BJP has shocked the JD (S). It has roped in a candidate who had contested from JD (S) in the last elections.

In the last two Assembly elections, JD (S) candidate H. T. Baligar has been roped by the BJP. Baligar formally joined the BJP in the presence of Former Chief Minister B. S. Yediyurappa at the BJP Office in City on Friday November 18. Baligar joined the BJP along with several leaders and hundreds of workers.

Home Minister Araga Jnanendra, MP B. Y. Raghavendra, Former Minister K. S. Eshwarappa and others were present.
