PMAGY: Shivamogga DC orders for comprehensive action plan, quick completion of works

Shivamogga: A survey programme along with comprehensive action plan has to be initiated for development of villages selected under Pradhan Mantri Adarsha Grama Yojna 2020-21 and thereby take up development works in those villages this year itself after approval, said Deputy Commissioner K. B. Shivakumar. 

He was speaking after presiding over the progress review meeting held to deliberate on PMAGY at the hall at DC’s office here on Wednesday August 19. He ordered to provide necessary infrastructure to such villages and see to it that the works under the project is completed by the next financial year. 

Detailing the officers on project implementation procedure he said that the Central Government under this scheme will provide each selected village with the amount of Rs. 40 lakh for development purposes and Rs. 60000 for administrative expenses. The villages that has a greater number of SC/ST needs to be earmarked, he added.

In the year 2020-21, 33 villages have been shortlisted under Social Welfare Department and one village under Scheduled Caste Welfare Department, he said and ordered the officials to prioritise development of drinking water facilities, cleanliness, basic facilities, solid and wet waste management and disposal, repairs of toilets in school and anganwadis, building anganwadis, construction of roads and providing of street lights. Conduct survey programme and then create action plan, which should be approved by Gram Panchayat under the leadership of its president. Survey programme should be held in the villages. Finally, a District Level Convergence Committe (DLCC) approval has to obtained to begin with work, he stressed.

Further, DC at the meeting has intimated all the Project Development Officers to take up with survey and complete the action plan within a week and submit to him.
