Shivamogga: Continuing his attacks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, AICC President Rahul Gandhi said that the RSS had trained Prime Minister Modi to lie blatantly.
“Donning the shorts and holding the club in hand, Modi lies swiftly,” he said adding that the general public is left torn between question paper leaks and data leaks.
Addressing Janashirvad Yathra on Tuesday, April 3, in Shivamooga, the hometurf of BJP’s Chief Ministerial candidate B S Yeddyurappa, Gandhi said that Rafael deal should have happened with the HAL but Modi made sure that his ‘close friends’ strike the deal.
Lauding the Karnataka government, Gandhi said that the state has to its credit of spending half the amount spent by the centre for welfare of Dalits and the backward communities.
“While the BJP has been talking of Gujarat model of development, it is a fact that 90 per cent of educational institutions in Gujarat are in the clutches of capitalists and on an average, an individual has to spend Rs 15 lac to complete higher education. However, in Karnataka, the Congress government is providing free education for girls right from kinder garten to higher studies,” he said.
Mocking BJP state President Amit Shah for his recent goof ups, Gandhi said that the only truth ever told by Amit Shah is that Yeddyurappa government is the most corrupt government.

Later, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, addressing the gathering said that Shah had visited the memorial of Kuvempu, but if the great poet was alive he would have never entertained Shah.
Talking about various leaders who went on to become chief ministers of the state, he said that Kadidalu Manjappa, S Bangarappa, JH Patel were all from the same district who brought glory to the district by becoming chief ministers. But, it is only B S Yeddyurappa, who dented the image of this district by bringing in the most corrupt government of the state.
