Shivamogga: There is a gruesome twist to the missing case of a boy from Vinobhanagar that was reported last week. The dead body of eight-year-old Prem, son of Lingaraju was found in Shikaripura area and it is now said that the death of the boy has its roots in an eight-year old incident. Basavaraju, a resident of Churchigundi had executed a theft in the village about eight-years-ago. However, he had ran into trouble after his close friend Lingaraju revealed about the theft to the police.
Basavaraju nurtured hatred for Lingaraju after this, but remained neutral without showing his animosity. Slowly, Basavaraju planned ways to ruin Lingaraju’s life and in this bid he first developed an intimate relationship with Lingaraju’s wife.
When Basavaraju’s visits to the house increased, especially in absence of Lingaraju, Prem had raised his objections.
Irked by this, Basavaraju decided to kill Prem. It is said that after luring Prem with chocolates, Basavaraju had sneaked him out of the school and taken him to isolated area in Shikaripura. He had then taken Prem to Kumadvathi river, drowned him and then buried his dead body nearby before escaping to Bengaluru.
However, when police traced him out, he has revealed this shocking truth.
