Shivamogga: The bridge on NH – 766 (C) and falling between Nagara-Chickpete which connects to Kollur via Nagara – Nagodi route from Hosanagara and road on NH – 169, falling on route connecting Shivamogga – Theerthahalli from Vihangama Nursery curve and Bharatipura curve have suffered severe damages. Hence, Deputy Commissioner K. B. Shivakumar has ordered the re-routing of heavy vehicles and ban of heavy vehicles on these stretches.

The alternate routes for routes that are affected due to this damage are suggested the district administration and is as follows. The heavy vehicles travelling from Shivamogga to Kundapur and Kundapur – Shivamogga have been ordered to take Shivamogga – Sagara – Honnavara (NH – 69) route. Further, the heavy vehicles travelling from Shivamogga to Udupi – Mangaluru and Mangaluru to Udupi – Shivamogga have to ply on Shivamogga – Koppa – Karkala – Mangaluru (SH – 57, SH – 656 and NH – 169) route.

The heavy vehicles moving from Shivammoga to Kundapur have been asked to take Shivamogga – Hosanagara – Hulikal Ghat – Siddapura – Kundapur route, while heavy vehicles travelling from Shivamogga to Mangaluru have been ordered to take Shivamogga – Narasimharajapura – Koppa – Sringeri – Karkala – Mangaluru route.
