Mysuru: After a dead body of a foetus was found near an anthill at Periyapatna, the case has got new twist with the police tracking down the mother of the child.
As per police, the mother has confessed that she had left the dead foetus near the anthill on Tuesday and the reason behind her act was driven by the words of an astrologer on whom she has lot of faith.
The lady identified as Sumitra, resident of Gollarabeedi in Periyapatna had a miscarriage during sixth month of pregnancy. Hence, she had come to Cheluvamba hospital to do the required procedures. The hospital had handed over the dead body of the foetus to her.
However, when her astrologer told her that the foetus cannot be buried, but instead should be simply left near an anthill, she followed his words and left the foetus near an anthill close to Gandhinagar water tank.
Since the tag of the hospital was stuck around the wrist of the foetus, the police could reach Sumitra easily.
