Hassan: Former Minister H. D. Revanna has alleged that the District Administration and the Police Department are not taking any action despite the fact that voters are being lured under police protection in Hassan Assembly constituency.

Addressing a press conference at Jnanakshi Kalyana Mandapam in the city, he alleged that Inspectors and Sub-Inspectors led by Hassan Deputy Superintendent of Police Uday Bhaskar were indulging in irregularities in the Hassan MLA’s election by providing security and blocked the 80-feet road on the Ring Road in the City and provided police security to women voters. It also has a picture of the MLA but no one has taken any action in this regard,” he alleged.

Alleging Hassan DYSP Uday Bhaskar as the “godfather” of the ongoing irregularities, extortion and murder cases in Hassan, Revanna said the JDb(S) has called off the protest on Wednesday March 29 against the officer, but the protest was called off after District Superintendent of Police Hari Ram Shankar telephoned him and requested him to do so. However, if no action is taken by evening, JD (S) leaders will stage a protest in front of the SP’s Office on Thursday March 30.

He also warned that he would lodge a complaint with the State Election Commission and the Central Election Commission demanding immediate suspension of some Inspectors and Sub-Inspectors, including Hassan DySP Uday Bhaskar, and also take disciplinary action against them.
