Hassan: Family members of the deceased driver, who committed suicide two days ago in the forest guest house at Madikeri, protested demanding justice by keeping the mortal remains in front of the forest office on June 24.
Family members led by farmer leader Suresh Babu and Karnataka Republic Sene President S Nirvanaiah demanded severe action against the three forest department personnel named by the deceased driver Manjunath in the death note. They also sought a compensation of Rs 50 Lakh to the bereaved family and a government job for one of the family members of the deceased.
It may be recalled that forest department driver H S Manjunath (55) committed suicide in the departmental guest house at Madikeri on June 22. In the death note left behind by him, he had mentioned of harassment by Deputy Conservator of Forests of Sakleshpur Anupama, Zonal Forest Officer Dayanand and driver Suresh and held the trio accountable for him taking the extreme step.
