SP Annamalai and team raids gambling den, 38 including four policemen held

Chikkamagaluru: As many as 38 people including four policemen were caught gambling by Superintendent of police (SP) Annamalai and his team after they raided a club on Sunday night, August 21.

The raid took place at Blue Star club at Hiremagaluru late in the evening on Sunday. An amount of Rs 45,000, 25 vehicles and mobile phones were seized from the gamblers. The four policemen are said to be Yogish, Basavaraju, Poornesh and Lokesh. It is said that Annamalai has ordered suspension of the policemen.

According to sources, some local politicians were also spotted among the gamblers. A case has been registered at the rural police station.

SP Annamalai, an able and honest officer was recently transferred from Udupi to Chikkamagaluru.
