Chikkamagalur: The Madhya Pradesh Congress receive a major shock with the BJP resorting to Operation Kamala.
While eight MLAs were reportedly picked by the BJP, it is said that at least three of them have been lodged in a resort in Karnataka.
As per sources, one Congress MLA and two independent MLAs who supported the Kamal Nath government are in a resort near Chikkamagaluru in Karnataka.
However, the report has not yet been confirmed as most of the BJP top leaders have refuted the allegations of the Kamal Nath government of the BJP luring the MLAs.
The Kamal Nath government came to power 15 months ago and ‘resort politics’ was played even then by the BJP, which had not yielded any results.
With the help of other parties and the independents, Kamal Nath could become the CM, but the government is now shaky with the mid night development that ufurled on Tuesday.
There are 228 MLAs in the Madhya Pradesh assembly. The Congress could bag 114 seats while BJP got 107 seats.
With two BSP, one SP and four independents too making it to the assembly, the BJP, which had lost the assembly polls with a very narrow margin tried to lure the these and form the government.
When the BJP’s attempts had failed, the Congress could conveniently form the government.
Amid reports of the government being in doldrums, Kamala Nath has said that he is confident that the government will continue as none of the MLAs will fall into the BJP’s trap.
