Chikkamagaluru: MLA C T Ravi and MLC M K Pranesh have been given clean chit by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) after the investigation of the suicide case of deputy superintendent of police, Kallappa Handibag.

Kallappa Handibag, DySP of Chikkamagaluru sub-division had committed suicide a few months ago following allegations of kidnap and extorting Rs 10 lakh ransom from the victim.

According to the CID’s findings, the two legislators had met DSP Santhosh Babu after allegation of the Handibag’s involvement in the Tejas Gowda kidnap case started making rounds. The investigating has not found any evidence to prove that the two legislators had tried to trap Handibag in the case.

Several rumours surfaced about the involvement of the two legislators Ravi and Pranesh as Praveen Khandya, a Sangh Parivar activist was said to be the master mind of the whole kidnap drama.
