Chikkamagaluru: Town Muncipal council commissioner Tusharamani led team raided shops for selling banned plastic products and imposed fine.

To put an end to plastic menace, commissioner on credible information raided Kenchamba traders. During the raid shop owned by one Prakash on K M Road was found to be selling plastic in his maruti car. Over 10kg of banned plastic and car used for the purpose was seized and imposed a fine of Rs 20,000.

Few days ago, the officials had raided the same shop, seized banned plastic items and imposed a fine of Rs 5,000. But the owner did not pay heed to the warning and conitnued to sell the items illegally. Now the owner has been given final warning.

Another shop was also raided in Barlain road and seized 150kg of plastic items with a fine.

The officials led by the commissioner have seized around 700kg of plastic items in the town and have destroyed it.
