Chikkamagaluru: Transformer Maintenance Campaign from Nov 1 to 15

Chikkamagaluru: Energy, Kannada and Cultural Minister V. Sunil Kumar in has said that the BJP Government is working with commitment to provide uninterrupted quality electricity in the State.

He was speaking after inaugurating the 33/11 KV Power Substation at Banakal here. Work has been done to provide electricity to unelectrified household through the Belaku Project. Over 2.5 lakh households have been electrified during the year. The Amrit Jyoti Yojana has benefitted Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe families. From November 1 to November 15, a campaign has been launched to keep the transformers in the State in good condition through the Transformer Maintenance Campaign, he said.

It has been decided to provide free electricity to coffee growers for 10 HP power pump sets. The government is ready to relax the rules of small land holders. In order to benefit the farmers, a subsidy of Rs.16,000 Crore has been provided for one year, he noted.
