Chikkamagaluru: The State Hajrat Tipu Sultan Fans’ Forum has demanded that Minister Dr. C. N. Ashwath Narayan should be removed from the Cabinet immediately and appropriate legal action should be taken against him for making derogatory remarks against Tipu Sultan, who sacrificed his life for the Country.

Maha Vedike District President Jamshed Khan stated in a press release that though the BJP Government, which was in the third place, is now in the first position, there is zero development.

“Instead of acting as a role model for the society as a people’s representative, an attempt is being made to suppress communal riots by saying things,” he said.

“As elections are approaching, it is the BJP Minister’s business to divide the society by speaking in a poisonous manner. Tipu Sultan, who has a proud name in the history of the Country, has good opinion at home and abroad. It is condemnable that he has made such a statement without being aware of it,” he said.

“If politicians are aware of history, how is it right for Minister Ashwath Narayan to disturb the harmony by saying that Siddaramaiah will be beaten the way Tipu did instead of coming out for an open debate and showing their strength,” he asked.

“The State and Central Governments have increased the prices of essential commodities, not mitigated unemployment and neglected farmers. In the name of religion, elections have been held in the Country and peace has been disturbed,” he said.

“Even this year’s Budget is an anti-people Budget that focuses only on election gimmicks without making any favourable promises to the farmers,” he said.
