Chikkamagaluru: The first state-level Jeeviloka Sahitya Sammelana in memory of K.P. Poorna Chandra Tejasvi was inaugurated by Jeeviloka and Book Brahma at devara house premises in Chikkamagaluru.

Kuvempu University Vice-Chancellor B.P. Veerabhadrappa said, “Agriculture and literature should also be developed. Nowadays the air we breathe has been polluted. We have to think about what kind of environment we are living in,” he said.

R C Jagadeesh, Vice-Chancellor, Keladi Shivappa Nayaka University of Agriculture and Horticulture, said, “It was the word ‘Jeeviloka’ that brought me to the event. Poornachandra Tejaswi’s concern for the environment, his passion for the environment, was very different from that of Tejaswi, who gave life to environmental stories. His articles are meant to touch people’s hearts by understanding the environment. Kuvempu’s poem explains karanth’s relationship between man and the environment to his writings on the environment.

Speaking on the occasion, Ishwar Prasad, organisers of the Jeeviloka Sahitya Sammelana, said, “Tejaswi’s dream is ‘Jeeviloka’. Poornachandra Tejaswi was a man who understood the environment a lot. His writings bear testimony to this. Though he was born in Mysore, the love of nature of Mudigere attracted him. Had they not come to this area, we would not have got such good works.

The programme was moderated by Book Brahma Editor-in-Chief Devu Pattara.
