Chikkamagaluru: Upset over not getting a ticket, a BJP worker climbed a 100-feet-high tower and threatened to commit suicide near Shivani Railway Station in Ajjampura Taluk of the district.

The police and locals are trying hard to bring down Rangappa Bovi, who has threatened to resort to suicide by climbing the tower. Rangappa was adamant that he will not get down until the TV person comes and shows him the face and the logo.

“If I contest elections, I will have to contest from the BJP. It is unfair as even before it was said that SC/ST will be made to come forward in the society. There is a feeling that there is no unity among the Dalit people. If all of you come together to save me, save me, he said and threatened to fall down otherwise.

“I was called seven and a half years ago. People invited me to rowdyism and real estate. But I didn’t go. I have three children who have studied degrees and double degrees. They too have been deprived of work. The money in my account was also hacked. I value teachers, soldiers, and policemen very much. Even if I die, at least give justice to my children,” he urged.

“The pain I have suffered no other small and poor society should suffer,” he said. In the video, he can be seen thanking Udbhava Anjaneya Swamy and Niranjana Swamiji.
