Chikkamagaluru: Sri Rama Sene State Working President Gangadhar Kulkarni said that the Dattamala Abhiyan will be held from November 7 to 13.

Addressing a press conference here, he said that during the 7-day-long Dattamala Abhiyan, Datta devotees will wear Dattamala on November 7. On November 10, Datta Deepotsava, on November 12, Padi Sangraha (Bhikshatane), on November 13, and Shobha Yatra will be held in Chikkamagaluru City, while homa, havana and Dharmasabha will be held at Dattapeetha.

Sri Rama Sene National President Pramod Muthalik, Maharashtra Hindu Rashtra Sena’s Dhananjaya Desai, and saints will participate in the ‘Dattamala Abhiyan’.

Savarkar’s grandson Satyaki Savarkar is expected to participate. Over 10,000 people will participate in the Dattamala campaign, he added.

Kulkarni said that Sri Rama Sene has been fighting for 18 years over the Dattapeetha issue. The court has ordered the appointment of Hindu priests. The Assembly Committee has given its report. However, the State Government is considering the appointment of Hindu priests. If hindu priests are not appointed by November 13, there will be a massive agitation. If an untoward incident occurs, the State Government will be held responsible, Kulkarni said and warned that people will give a befitting reply in the upcoming elections if they are ignored.
