Maddur :  The Karnataka Rakshana Vedike activists blocked the Highway  near the  bus stand in the town on August 1,  Friday in protest against the  disruptive activities of the MES activists in Belgaum.

Hundreds of vehicles were seen queued up on either sides of the Highway as the protestors blocked the road for over half an hour as part of the protest.

V.C.Umashanker, District President of the Vedike, who addressed the protestors demanded that the MES MLA Sambaji Patil should immediately be arrested after invoking Goonda Act against him for offending Kannadigas.

Ashok, Taluk President of the Vedike, Mahadevu, Town unit Chief, Nadeem, Chethan, Nasir and other members took part in the protest.
