Beltangady: Madantyar native Arun Furtado has been appointed as the deputy secretary of administration to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
The order was issued by the under-secretary to Government (Personnel and Administrative Reforms) KV Ashoka. In the order, it is said that Arun Furtado, Additional Director, Department of Social Welfare (currently Director, Dr Babu Jagjivanaram Research Centre, Bangalore) has been posted as Deputy Secretary to the Chief Minister with immediate effect for the tenure of the Chief Minister or until further orders. Earlier, Arun Furtado served as Dakshina Kannada district social welfare officer.
