Vijayanagara: P. K. Halli in the District will be converted into hobli and an order to this effect will be issued immediately, said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

After inaugurating ‘Jan Sankalp yatra’ at Dr Puneet Rajkumar District Stadium here on Wednesday October 12, Bommai informed about development schemes introduced in the District. He said, “a Detailed Project Report for Mariyammanahalli Drinking Water scheme is ready and the work will start soon. The people must support the BJP to win at least 10 seats from Vijayanagara and Ballari Districts. The Government has received Rs 20,000 Crore from the Government of India as per the Supreme Court’s direction, and the same will be spent on the development of these two Districts in order to treat them as model Districts.

“The Government is committed to recreate the past glory of the Vijayanagar kingdom in the newly created Vijayanagar District,” he said and added that Tourism Minister Anand Singh is working hard for the development of the District and he was responsible for the creation of the new District. He has successfully brought leaders of 75 communities on to the single platform. Both Singh and B. Sriramulu have organisational strength. Other leaders, Somalingappa, Gopalakrishna, Somashekar Reddy are working for the welfare of people of this region, he added.
