Raichur: Students staying at the Ambedkar Hostel in Sindhanur fell ill on Friday, after consuming the midday meal which allegedly was not properly cooked. Around 24 students reportedly experienced discomfort soon after consuming the food and were rushed to the taluk hospital for medical attention.
However, the situation at the hospital turned grim as the students were left unattended for two hours due to the absence of doctors.
Social Welfare Deputy Director Mahesh Poteadar visited the hospital to take stock of the situation. The incident also highlights the ongoing issue of food quality at the Ambedkar Hostel, which had previously been brought to the attention of the authorities but seemingly remains unaddressed.
