Koppal: The rejuvenation work of a lake undertaken by Sandalwood star Yash in Tallur village of Yelburga taluk seems to have paid off with the water level in the lake going up.

The villagers are ecstatic about the fact that the lake has started getting natural spring water taking the water level to around 8 feet while the silt removal work is under progress and are hopeful that once the work is completed there would be sufficient water to meet the need s of the around 10,000 people residing within a radius of 20 kilometer of the lake.

It may be recalled that Yash along with his wife had taken up the rejuvenation of a 96 acre lake at the cost of Rs 4 crore that was to be spent by Yash Marga Foundation, instituted by the actor.

The work was taken up on a priority basis and the silt removal began from February 28, which coincided with the launching of the project. On the occasion Yash had urged the youth as well as organistaions to join him in this social initiative where after many farmers brought their tractors which they used in their farms to remove the silt from the lake.
