Koppal: Gali Janardhana Reddy’s Karnataka Rajya Pragati Party will field a candidate from the Veerashaiva Lingayat community for the Kushtagi Assembly Constituency in the District.

The JD (S) has already announced Tukaram Surve as its candidate. The Congress candidate is MLA Amaregowda Patil Bayyapura and his rival Former BJP MLA Doddanagouda Patil’d candidature is yet to be announced.

In such a situation, Gali Janardhana Reddy has announced that he will contest from Gangavathi Constituency and Reddy’s party has been making noise in the neighbouring Constituency of Kushtagi for the past few days.

In this context, candidate from the Veerashaiva Lingayat Community may be fielded for the next election. As part of the polarisation of the Congress and the BJP, the community has approached BJP Taluk Mandala President Basavaraj Hallur and has set a deadline of Tuesday January 3 to give a clear view.
