Kalaburagi: The primary suspect involved in the illegal Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) recruitment exam case, utilizing a Bluetooth device, has been apprehended and taken into custody by the CID police on Wednesday.

The accused, who was already under judicial custody, appeared before the Kalaburagi JMFC court on Wednesday afternoon, escorted by heavy police security. During this appearance, CID officials sought a 10-day remand for further investigation, a request granted by the court, resulting in a 9-day remand.

The CID police have detained the accused and are conducting interrogations at a guest house in the Ivan-e Shahi area of Kalaburagi. Previously, the accused had been questioned by the PSI in the same guest house in connection with an illicit affair.

Patil, the accused, had submitted an application to the Kalaburgi Bench of the High Court, seeking the dismissal of complaints filed in the case. The court, while hearing this petition, questioned the urgency to dismiss the complaints and adjourned the hearing to November 17.
