Large parts of India are grappling with an intense heatwave, with several regions expected to face severe conditions in the coming days.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued heatwave warnings for various states, urging residents to take necessary precautions to stay safe.
The worst affected regions include Rayalaseema, Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh, which are expected to experience heatwave conditions for the next five days. Telangana is likely to face similar conditions from April 29 to May 1.
Heatwaves are also forecast for Kerala and Mahe, Konkan and East Uttar Pradesh from April 28 to 30.
With temperatures soaring, IMD advised people to stay indoors during the peak heat hours (usually between 11 am and 4 pm), drink plenty of fluids, and wear loose, light-colored clothing. Those venturing outdoors should carry water and wear sunscreen to protect themselves from the harsh sunlight.
