Party leaders don’t get to choose CM says Siddu after Poojary favours DKShi

Kalaburgi: A day after former union minister B Janardhana Poojary demanded chief minister Siddaramaiah’s resignation remarking that either D K Shivakumar or a Dalit can be elected to the post, Siddaramaiah hit back saying that party leaders dont get to choose who will become the next chief minister.

Speaking to reporters here after laying the foundation stone for the Mini Vidhana Soudha building at Aland town in Kalaburagi district on Sunday the chief minister said that the party high command and the legislators get to decide who would be elected to the chief ministerial post if the party is voted to power.

Further he downplayed the visit of BJP national president Amit Shah to Bengaluru saying that their strategies to achieve the Mission 150 will be impossible. Their strategies will not affect our party, he said adding that the BJP may find it difficult to get 50 seats in the upcoming polls

Regarding the income tax raids on several Congress leaders the chief minister said that the party was against the idea of politically-motivated raids. He questioned why only the Congress leaders were being targeted and not the BJP leaders.
