Kalburgi: District in-Charge Minister Priyank Kharge has decided not to spend unnecessarily on flowers, bouquets, garlands and other materials while welcoming the guests during functions, here on Saturday, December 29.

He has decided to divert such expenses as a fund to Red Cross Society towards developing the rural areas.

Priyank also said that this rule would apply to the functions organized in the cities as well.

He opined that it would be better if once in five years the public blesses and elects the local representative and a leader who has worked genuinely towards the development, rather than honouring them with garlands and bouquets.

Meanwhile, he laid the foundation stone for several projects.
