K’taka man arrested for feasting on porcupine, sharing video on TikTok

Kalaburgi: A 25-year-old man from Karnataka, who killed a porcupine and cooked it on camera has been arrested by the forest sleuths.

The accused Manjunath Biryalhissa is a resident of Jewargi taluk of Kalaburgi.

Manjunath was quite popular on Tiktok as he used put various videos showing him do minor stunts. However, his recent video of hunting down a porcupine and cooking it proved costly for him.

According to forest officials, on Friday, Manjunath and his friends caught a porcupine in Sindagi range, Vijayapura and stoned it to death.

Later, they fried and cooked it. Manjunath then made an 18-second video of the same and invited his TikTok fans to come over for a feat.

Officials informed that porcupine comes under Schedule 4 of the Wild Life Protection Act and hunting it down is a crime.
