Kalaburagi: State Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Alok Kumar has said that necessary steps have already been taken to maintain law and order for the Assembly elections in the State.
He explained that the Government has decided to keep a close watch on rowdies, especially those who have more than five cases registered in the last five years, take action under the Goonda Act if required and take steps in other directions, he instructed.
“No matter which party the rowdies belong to or join but only the department will take action. In particular, he said, there will be no hesitation in taking strict action on the law and order front.
The list of gun licence holders will be examined as well as the purpose for which they were obtained. The department is also planning to take strict action to trace those who did not respond to the warrant, he said.
