Afzalpur: The Bharatiya Janata Party leader Baburao Chinchansur has challenged that he would defeat the Opposition leader in Lok Sabha and veteran Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge, here on Monday, April 8.

Addressing a gathering at Banhatti village during the Lok Sabha election rally for the BJP candidate from Kalaburgi constituency Dr. Umesh Jadhav, he alleged that from the past 50 years, Kharge was enjoying power at the Centre by gaining votes from all the communities and had done nothing for the district. For this reason the BJP has decided to defeat him, he added.

Chinchansur said, “The people of Koli community are trust worthy, honest and very innocent. They will decide the result.”

“Kharge has also helped his son win the elections. Congress has not fulfilled the dreams of Late Vittal Heroor, who was the leader of Koli Samaj and had worked for the community’s upliftment. But Kharge has betrayed them. I have taken an oath to defeat him this time”, he added.

He said, “Kharge had made false promises to the people of Koli community that he would get them under the Schedule Tribes (ST) category. But now, the BJP has promised the same and is working towards it. This is the reason I left the Congress party and joined BJP unconditionally.”

Meanwhile, he called upon the people to support the BJP candidate Dr. Umesh Jadhav and ensure his victory.

“If you help him win the elections, he will definitely fulfill the promise of including the Koli community in ST category”, said Chinchansur.

He also said, “Like Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the Chowkidar of the country, I am the Chowkidar of Koli community.”

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Umesh Jadhav said, “I will make a sincere effort towards bringing Koli community under the ST category, if voted to power and strive hard for the development of the district.”
