Bidar: Election officials seized T-shirts and caps carrying the photo of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP symbol at the Tumakunta check-post in Chincholli taluk, Kalaburgi district.
The seized items are said to be worth Rs 9.50 lakh and were being transported without permission from Kalaburgi to Bidar. It is reported that the campaign materials were intended for use in the campaign of BJP Bidar Lok Sabha candidate Bhagawanth Khooba. Chincholli Assembly constituency is part of the Bidar Lok Sabha constituency.
In another incident, election officials in Hubballi seized Rs 1.89 lakh that was being transported in an Innova at the Gokul check-post. The vehicle was traveling from Belagavi to Hubballi. During the inquiry, the owner failed to furnish documents related to the money.
The officials seized the money and deposited it in the treasury.
