Bhalki: With Bhalki still reeling under tension, the police are facing allegations of brutality.

The students and teachers of Husseini mosque have alleged that the police beat up seven inmates of the Madrasa who were not a part of the clash at all.

” They are innocent and not involved in the violence,” said Mohammad Ishaq, a teacher at the madrasa who has also sustained injuries, on Saturday.

Mohammad Aslam, Imam of the mosque said that group of 30 policemen beat up around 20 members of the Tabliq Jamaat that was camping in the first floor of the mosque.

However, SP Prakash Nikam  has denied the charges.
