Bidar: In a gruesome incident, a mentally ill person butchered two women who tried to stop him from pelting stones at a temple in the city. The incident happened on Sunday night.

According to the police, the incident took place in Labour colony of the city. “Devappa (30), a mentally ill person from Vadagera village in Yadagiri district was pelting stones at a temple. Two local residents named Durgamma (50) and Lalithamma (35) tried to stop him. Angered by this, he butchered both of them infront of the temple using a sword,” police said.

“Accused has been arrested. He is mentally unsound. So he will be admitted to the hospital first,” informed police.
