Bidar: Sharanappa Sajjan, a former judge of the civil court has been arrested by Bidar police and Karnataka High Court Vigilance Wing officials on charges of accepting bribe on Saturday.
On Friday, police arrested the judge from his hometown of Sindhanur in Raichur district and produced before the court of Additional District Sessions Judge G. Nanjundaiah.
Mr. Sajjan was trapped by the vigilance wing on December 23, while accepting a bribe from complainant Keertiraj Posthe. The latter had accused Mr. Sajjan of seeking a bribe of Rs. 1 lakh for ruling in his favour.
Sudhir Kumar Reddy, Superintendent of Police said that the arrested has been remanded in judicial custody for 15 days.
