Bidar: Usually, when a snake comes in, it is enough for everyone to move away. However, when young Chandrakant Wade found the snake, he caught it bravely and released it into the forest.
Chandrakant Wade, a resident of Chalakapura Village, is known as a snake-catching adventurer and has completed his ITI and runs a coconut shop in the Village. Chandu, who is an entrepreneur by profession, has made catching a snake a habit. He catches the snake without disturbing it and leaves it in a nearby forest.
He said, “Snake catching has not come from tradition. Instead, I wanted to make a name for myself by doing something new. At the same time I learned more and more about catching a snake on the internet. At first, I used to catch a small snake. Now I catch all the snakes. There is no magic in this,” lhe said.
Speaking about his adventure he said, “So far, I have caught 8 to 10 species of snakes like cobra, water snake, green snake and released them into Mylar’s Forest.”
“If anyone informs him about snake’s presence, Chandu rushes to the spot, catches the snake and informs the people not to kill the snakes but allow them to live.
Social Activist Revanasiddha Jaadar says he is popularly known as ‘Snake Chandu’ in the surrounding villages.
“I learnt to catch snakes from YouTube and this has now become a trend. As of now, I don’t ask anyone for a single rupee to catch a snake and also I’m trying to find a cure for snakebites in the coming days,” says Chandrakant Wade.
